Infinite's mask is obviously a way to hide his face due to the shame he felt losing everything to Shadow. But also, considering how the Phantom Ruby works, the mask could also work to isolate him from the constant noise and fog it emits. Hearing that droning noise 24/7 would likely drive him insane (well, faster than having the Ruby fused to his body would). It's interesting to think of the mask as a sensory deprivation tool that keeps him separated from the real world while the Phantom Ruby drives him deeper into his escapist wish-fulfillment tendencies. A literal echo chamber strapped to his face.

Lily was a regular civilian when The War to Take Back the Planet (who fucking named it that?) started. After an attack on her home town destroyed her ponds, she escaped and joined the Resistance against the Eggman Empire. Lily has never needed nor wanted to fight. Violence scares her. But the only way to win the war is to fight, or to support those who can do the hard work. Lily mostly works behind the scenes, helping deliver supplies and working closely with Intel. She likes to stargaze and eat fruits, and is afraid of robots. She develops a crush on Speck when she disguises herself as a member of the Resistance. There's more about her background on her Art Fight profile! I need a better way to organize and share these characters lol.

What kind of proposal would Speck give? Well thought out? Impulsive? Is the ring a ruby?

Impulsive in the way that she doesn't plan anything overtly romantic. It's more of a "she just goes up to him and gives a very nervous presentation on why they should get married" thing. The only reason Infinite takes it seriously is because she's incredibly nervous about it. Speck doesn't get nervous often. She writes the speech in her head and fumbles it in front of him and it's the most awkward thing she's ever done, but Infinite finds it endearing.

And while it does have a Ruby, instead of a traditional ring, she offers an earring. They get another earring in place of a wedding ring.

17. Speck's most obvious motif is the lightning bolt. I wanted her to have a balance between sharp edges and soft roundness. the lightning motif shows up often in her design. Design and highlights below the cut

^crude shapes because drawing tablet isn't plugged in but while her shoes have the obvious bolts in the back, the white marks are also lightning shaped. Her sidetufts are sharp while her bangs are more rounded version of the shape. The hidden one is her tail end, which has a rounded top and a sharp tuft. I wanted her to have balance so a lot of her is rounded. Her ears are a little rounded, and she has little spots on her body that come from her Rusty-Spotted Cat genes. Primarily her shoulders and her legs. I like her face markings, which have sharp stripes pointing towards the little circles where her brows would meet. Overall, the balance in her design is kinda represented by her logo!
